Category III Gallery of Gore:
Take a look at the best gore effects put on film!
It takes real talent to make people want to vomit. While politicians and conservatives got a real knack for it, so do make-up and special effects artists. From Tom Savini to Sergio Stivaletti, below are just some of our favorite gore shots in horror movie history. If you've got the b@lls, scroll down. If not, go back to the main page, p*ssy!

"Cannibal Ferox" (1980)
Umberto Lenzi's nototrious rotgut cannibal flick has too many nasty-@ss gore scenes to list, so we picked one of the more tame that we could actually show. While the "whacked and eaten member" scene would be our first choice, the "impaled breasts" scene comes a close second. While the picture may look convincing, whe you see the actual movie, the artists work is clearly evident - that certainly doesn'e decrease the wince factor, though. |
"Scanners" (1981)
David Cronenberg's classic film of telepathy and government cover-ups really broke down the mainstream barrier with this notorious shot. Aye carumba, mi cabeza!

"Day of the Dead" (1985)
Like you didn't think Savini would end up at least once on this page? Probably the best example of his work, Romero's third movie in the "Holy Trilogy" shows off Savini's vast knowledge of the human anatomy. |
"Cannibal Holocaust" (1979)
There's just something about cannibal movies that really brings out the gore...Ruggero Deodato's genre starting flick really pushed the right buttons with gorehounds and showed filmgoers what human shish-ka-bob would look like. Ahhh, Honky: the other white meat!

"Dead Alive" (1992)
Peter Jackson's gore/comedy classic has it's fair share of grue as well, just take your pick! With scenes like this, Jackson proves the theory that the US did indeed do A-bomb tests Down Under! |
"Re-Animator" (1985)
Stuart Gordon's shining hour is STILL the groundbreaking piece of gore it was 15 years ago. It's hard to narrow down our favorite gore scene, but the finale where Dr. Hill's body explodes and his intestines attempt to strangle West has got to be the film's most over-the -top scene.

"Zombie" (1980)
Where's the money shot you ask? Why ruin it for those who haven't seen it yet? Eyeball. Splinter. Something's got to give. Watch the movie to see...if you dare. |
"The Beyond" (1981)
Damn! Fulci again! Maybe he's on here so much because his movies are so damn inventively nasty! You gotta' love any flick where a pig tailed brat gets a hole the size of a softball blown through her skull. Hey, she deserved it - she was a zombie!

John Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982)
Rob Bottin's vomit and fear inducing work on Carpenter's Howard Hawks remake is still unparallelled in tne field of gore effects. Other films might be gorier, but NONE will shock and frighten you worse than this! |
"Tenebrae" (1982)
Savin' the best for last! Dario Argento's @ss kickin' giallo has the coolest gore scene of all time (in OUR humble opinion) and is a great mystery to boot! The "paint the wall red" scene is legendary to fans who have seen it. If you haven't seen it yet...what the hell are you waiting for?!?
